Current Projects
- ECCO-East Coast Chamber Orchestra with Shai Wosner, piano (recording support)
In celebration of ECCO's dynamic, collaborative, and inventive 25 years together (2001-2026), the ensemble will record a new album illuminating ECCO's virtuosic contributions to the future of music.
Johann Sebastian BACH, arr. M. Wiancko: Chaconne, from Partita No. 2 in D minor (14') (ECCO commission)
David LUDWIG: Virtuosity - Five Microconcertos for String Orchestra (24') (ECCO commission)
Vijay IYER: Handmade Universe (22') (Wosner/ECCO commission in honor of Frank Salomon)
Eleanor ALBERGA: Oh Chaconne! (11') solo piano
This album, in collaboration with pianist Shai Wosner, establishes ECCO's role in the creation of important new works for string orchestra. World-class recordings breathe life into commissions beyond their premieres and this album is a vital way for ECCO's commissions to thrive into the future. This recording celebrates ECCO's tremendous music making and champions the future of this dynamic collective that combines the strength and power of a great orchestral ensemble with the personal involvement and sensitivity of superb chamber music.
